Leading Early Childhood Education in South Austin
Sweet Briar Child Development Center opened in 1961 as Little Dudes Daycare when Mrs. Ellen Smith recognized the need for childcare in South Austin as more woman were joining the workforce. High quality early education has always been our focus. We are proud of our long history as the first early education program in South Austin. The rebranding of the center one the years reflects the quality of the school and neighborhood where it is located.
Our mission is to provide a foundation for life-long learning and school readiness through high quality early care and education for the South Austin community. Sweet Briar has earned a Texas Rising Star Four-Star rating for over 30 years. Our campus is also in partnership with AISD for our Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 classes. As such, we are recognized as an AISD campus.
